Remove Your Tattoo Safely

If you've gotten tired of a tattoo you obtained ten years ago, there are a few options available for you. Not every choice works for everybody.
Remember that tattoos are meant to be permanent markings on your body. So it will take some effort (and maybe some cash, too) to get rid of them. But the tattoo-removing process has definitely evolved a lot since the time of our mothers that it shouldn't cause you too much concern to have them removed these days.
Among the earlier methods used to remove a tattoo is dermabrasion, which deals with scraping or sanding away skin. This has since been replaced by salabrasion where a salt solution is rubbed onto the skin. You're still going to see scars being left behind though. Surgery has also been often done to erase a tattoo. Just like dermabrasion and salabrasion, surgery will also leave some noticeable marks on your skin.
Scars that result from tattoo removal may be taken care of by a technique known as scarification. It involves removing the top layer of skin usually using an acid solution. There will still be a small amount of scar left behind but it will be there to hopefully cover up tattoo ink that still remains. Cryosurgery uses liquid nitrogen to freeze-burn a tattoo. It is also the most commonly used method of removing warts and other skin lesions.
Probably the best way to remove a tattoo is with quality-switched, or Q-switched, lasers, the most widely used in recent years. A beam of light searches for contrast between skin tone and ink and pulses intensely on the skin to break the ink down into particles small enough for the body to absorb. It is the standard procedure for tattoo removal, but it isn't without any risk.
Whether laser treatment depends the color contrast between the ink and skin. Black ink on light-skinned people is taken care of easily. Fluorescent colors are almost impossible to erase. Understand also that laser removal can be painful and will normally look like a healing burn for a few days.
If you're not ready to for medical techniques to remove tattoos, maybe you can try using heavy-duty makeup kits to cover them up. Companies like Tattoo Camo and Tattoo Cosmetics sell cover-up kits. You can also check out mainstream cosmetics companies, like Dermablend.
